Junior League of the Palm Beaches Announces 2018-2019 Board of Directors

The Junior League of the Palm Beaches, Inc. (JLPB), which has entered its 78th year, announced its 2018-2019 Board of Directors – led by Courtney Stafford Hickey as the incoming president – as well as its Executive Committee, which functions in a volunteer capacity to execute the routine operations of the nonprofit organization. The mission of The Junior League of the Palm Beaches’ is to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

The 2018-2019 Board of Directors, who are dedicated to the long-term goals and success of the League, include President Courtney Stafford Hickey, Attorney at The Stafford Firm, P.A; President-Elect Laura Wissa, Event Coordinator and Fundraiser at Leave it to Laura; Executive Vice President Melissa Perry, Teacher at Wellington Elementry School; Nominating Chair, Ilene Passler, Human Resources Professional; Secretary Alexandra Chase, Federal Prosecutor; and Treasurer Carley Bockmeyer, Investment Advisor. At-large board members includes: Megan Rogers, Attorney; Pam Schanel, Environmental Consultant; Sabra Ingeman; Xiomi Murray Penn and Marcelle Burke, COO of a cosmetic startup.

“As we commence our 78th year in Palm Beach County, it is an exciting time to be a part of The Junior League of the Palm Beaches. Our organization has been reflecting and celebrating the past accomplishments which have helped shape our community, from developing the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium and constructing the 10,000 sq ft play area at Gaines Park – to serving as the founding Mothers of Quantum House,” says Courtney Hickey, President of Junior League of the Palm Beaches. “In the upcoming year, our Board of Directors is challenged with laying the foundation for our next signature project – ensuring the Junior League of the Palm Beaches’ long history of positively impacting Palm Beach County. It is our goal to train and empower our members to identify unmet needs, as well as find solutions to improve the quality of life in the community we serve.”

Junior League also announced its executive committee, who manage the league’s day-to-day procedures and programs. The committee includes: Executive Vice President, Melissa Perry Elementary School Teacher ; Fundraising VP, Andrea Lewis, Attorney at Searcy, Denny, Scarola, Barnhart & Shipley; Membership VP Kristin Kellog, Project Architect at Glidden Spina + Partners; Community VP Nina Malagic Raynor, Board Certified Behavioral Analyst ; Communications VP Sarah Kudisch, Shopping Center Development with New England Development; Treasurer-Elect Ann Breeden, Attorney; Executive VP Elect Felice Shearer; and, Fundraising VP Elect Natasha Rawding, Owner, Le Macaron Palm Beach and Le Macaron City Place.
