Krista Downey is a Palm Beach County native and has deep philanthropic roots to the area. She served as Vice President of Community Service at her local high school and has continued her commitment to community service ever since.
Krista joined the Junior League in 2013 when she moved back to Palm Beach County after graduating from law school, and found the Junior League to be a great reintroduction to the community’s local philanthropic initiatives. Since then, Krista has served on all four councils of the Junior League and most recently served as Grant Writing Co-Chair where she hosted a number of training seminars on the formation of grant worthy projects and applications.
Professionally, Krista is an Attorney specializing in estate, tax and charitable gift planning, estate and trust administration, and related real estate and corporate matters. Krista is also a licensed real estate broker and owns and operates a her own real estate brokerage company.
In addition to her service through the Junior League, Krista is actively involved in the community as the Palm Beach County Regional Co-Chair of the University of Miami School of Law Young Alumni Council, as a member of the University of Florida Advisor Network, the Young Lawyers Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the 65th Annual Palm Beach Heart Ball Junior Committee, the Young Friends of the Norton Museum of Art and the Palm Beach Young Professionals. In her free time, Krista enjoys volunteering, taking courses on nonprofit governance, renovating houses and selling real estate.
Krista brings her legal knowledge and experience in nonprofit organization management and regulation to the Board of Directors as this year’s Secretary.
