Junior League of the Palm Beaches Donates Over 500 Items for Back to School

Summer is almost over, but amidst the end of summer vacations, beach days, and BBQs, The Junior League of the Palm Beaches’ Boys & Girls Club Committee took time out to address a cause close to their heart. School starts in a couple of weeks – and for the many children without those vital school supplies in tow, it can be a really steep learning curve.

For this reason, the Boys & Girls Club Committee hosted an event last week at Copper Blues in downtown West Palm Beach to gather much-needed supplies. JLPB also partnered up with Cyclebar Wellington, who collected donations all week long & gifted one lucky raffle winner a free month of cycle lessons.  Both events brought in a total of over 500 school supplies for the children of our local Boys & Girls Club.

JLPB Boys and Girls Club Co-Chair, Kat McGinly remembers, “when I was in elementary school, I was so excited to start the school year after going shopping for my new backpack and new folders. I just can’t imagine not being able to start off the school year with that level of joy.  We wanted to do this drive to help local children in need feel prepared and excited for their first day of school.”
