Chef’s delight: Dessert, art sweeten Seagull benefit

Chef Joshua Rhodes prepared delicious pumpkin roll and other seasonal desserts for 80 supporters of Seagull Services at the fifth annual Chef Event at the Beach Club Restaurant at The Breakers.

Artwork created by Seagull clients was part of the raffle and silent auction.

Committee members were Karen Rae, Lisa Lambka, Shelby Loosh and Sezha Nunter.

Barbara Nurenberg, CEO, said the Nov. 12 luncheon raised $15,000.

The center provides job skills and work for people who have barriers to employment.

Holiday toy drive — Gregg S. Beletsky reminds members of the Worth Avenue Association to bring new unwrapped toys for the annual Palm Beach Daily News Holiday Toy Drive to the Dec. 3 meeting at Ta-boó, 221 Worth Ave.

“If the weather is good, I will park my Jeep in front of Ta-boó and we can fill it up with toys,” he said.

Mark your calendar — Talented young voices will perform in two concerts next month at the Kravis Center, 701 Okeechobee Blvd.

Deck the palms — The Junior League of the Palm Beaches will sponsor its annual Deck the Palms Holiday Market at 9 a.m. Dec. 10 [sic] at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, 650 Okeechobee Blvd.

Shoppers will have access to 100 vendors offering apparel, accessories, holiday décor and more.
