Community Programs
The Junior League of the Palm Beaches (JLPB) is dedicated to making a lasting impact throughout the Palm Beaches, centered around several signature programs:
The Alliance for Period Supplies at the JLPB
In partnership with the National Alliance for Period Supplies, we collect donated pads and panty liners that we distribute to various organizations in our community to help women in need. We have proudly collected and distributed more than one million supplies to help combat period poverty since we began this initiative. Learn more.
D.I.A.D. (Done in A Day)
Through our DIAD program, JLPB partners with and supports more than 20 non-profit organizations. We assist with a variety of projects that can be completed in one day, ensuring that our volunteers are able to quickly respond to our community’s needs. Partners include Back to Basics Angel Program, CROS Ministries Gleaning, Feeding South Florida, Loggerhead Marinelife Center Beach Clean Ups, Palm Beach County Food Bank, Quantum House, Red Apple Supplies, and The Lord’s Place. Eye & Ear Alert
Since 1968, JLPB’s Eye & Ear Alert has provided free vision and hearing screenings to thousands of preschoolers and young children to detect possible concerns for effective correction. The group provides onsite screenings throughout the year in Palm Beach County. Learn more.
Literacy & Creativity
This program provides children ages 3 and older with educational and recreational activities that allow them to flourish, build self-esteem and make connections. Our newest initiative, Little Libraries, has provided more than 30 free mini libraries and books at local Title 1 schools in low-income areas to help foster a love of reading and childhood literacy. Additional work by members promotes reading, comprehension, creativity, and hands-on learning with children at the Florence De George Boys & Girls Club, BRIDGES at Riviera Beach, and Quantum House.
