Since 2000, the Junior League of the Palm Beaches has been providing mentoring to girls ages 12-18 of the Nelle Smith Residence. The committee shall provide: life skills classes, tutoring, mentoring, social education, hugs, and a warm heart. The goal is to empower the girls to build self-esteem and learn life skills furthering the League’s mission to develop the potential of women.

The Nelle Smith Residence is always in need of donated items, but especially so during the holidays. The Junior League of the Palm Beaches is collecting donations for the residence as well as holiday gifts for each of the 11 residents. Items can be dropped off at headquarters, 470 Columbia Drive, Building F, West Palm Beach.

– Silverware
– A handheld mixer
– A microwave
– Salt and pepper shakers
– Cookie sheets
– Tablecloths
– A hamper
– Swiffer dusters
– Extensions for Swiffer dusters
– Coffee pot
– DVD/CD racks
– Four mouse pads in fun colors
– Clear storage bins (thin enough to slide underneath beds)
– Plastic hangers
– Bath mats
– Shower caddies
– Hair ties in fun colors
– Shower caps (clear plastic caps are fine)
